2025 OxCIN/BRC Seed Grants announced

A total of 10 projects were awarded funding to support scanning and research costs.

Proposals were invited for up to £16,000 of scan and research costs from OxCIN researchers to support new research projects and public/patient/policy engagement projects. We are happy to announce that the following projects have been awarded funding. Many congratulations to all the applicants and collaborators!

 

OxCIN/BRC Seed Grants in Brain Technologies

In partnership with the Brain Technologies Theme of the Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre, OxCIN invited proposals in the area of brain technologies for clinical applications. Priority areas for this call included OPMs, brain stimulation, traumatic brain injury and neuroradiology reporting tools. The following projects have been awarded funding:

  1. Towards efficient, reliable, single-subject markers of predictive inference with next-generation optically pumped magnetometers (OPM-MEG) – Laurence Hunt

  3. Characterising Communication Related Neural Signatures in Autism with Wearable MEG – Robert Seymour
  4. Determining the effects of repeated striatal ultrasound stimulation on neural computation of reward during reinforcement learning: A proof-of-principle randomised controlled trial - Laurel Morris
  5. Identifying and validating biomarkers of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) using low-density EEG - Matthew Weightman, Hao-Lun Fu
  6. Targeting Dopaminergic Circuits: A Novel Approach to Human ventral tegmental area (VTA) Modulation via Transcranial Ultrasound Stimulation - Valentina Mancini
