Getting started with MRI registration iMacs

DRAFT - Not currently available for use

Setting up your account

The iMacs use local computer accounts not related to your general WIN or SSO accounts. You have been provided with a password that has been set on all of the registration machines. If you change this password on one machine you will need to change it on the other devices if you wish to use a single password - they are not linked.

Logging in for the first time

The first time you log into an iMac (each are completely separate so you may have to go through this three times if you operate all three scanners) you will need to go through the standard macOS setup procedure for accessibility, screen time etc.

Setting up NextCloud

On first login you will be asked to log into the Nextcloud service to complete the setup of the Nextcloud client at https://mri-nc.fmrib.ox.ac.uk where you should click the 'Log in' button and login with your WIN computer account username and password.

You will also see a notification permission window pop up in the top right. If you wish to see notifications, hover over this window and click on the disclosure triangle next to the word Options - choose Allow (or Deny).

Enrolling your YubiKey

If you have been given a YubiKey then you will be able to use this to unlock the computer (and approve SSO logins). Setting up the key to unlock the iMac requires an administrator to assist, so please arrange a time with computing-help@win.ox.ac.uk to do this.

Instructions for completing the setup are available on YubiKey's website:
