OxCIN Computer Account Types
What the different computer accounts are intended for
There are three classes of computer accounts available to OxCIN users which attract different charge rates. The details of these accounts follow.
Account Type | Purpose |
Data Access Account | MRI/MEG etc data transfer from OxCIN systems (SFTP from legacy MRI system and XNat web access) and printing services. VPN access where necessary for above services. |
Standard Account | All users of IT facilities that do not require access to the OOD cluster/Virtual Desktop Infrastructure service. Includes facilities of a Data Access account plus: OxCIN IT support services, Gitlab (and other web services), access to group file stores and general purpose Linux access host clint.fmrib.ox.ac.uk |
HPC Account | Includes facilities of a Standard Account plus: Access to OOD cluster/Virtual Desktop Infrastructure service and associated 'scratch' storage space. |
Standard accounts are allocated 10GB of storage space for their 'home' folder.
HPC accounts are allocated 20GB of storage space for their 'home' filder and 200GB of scratch space which can be extended without charge (with justification) on request.
There is a fourth account type - Staff Account. This is reserved for Centre core staff and should not ordinarily be selected.
