The Clarivate Highly Cited list identifies and celebrates researchers who have demonstrated a "significant and broad influence" in science or medicine-related disciplines.
The researchers selected have authored multiple highly cited papers which rank in the top one per cent in their fields over the past eleven years according to the Web of Science. The list is then refined by Clarivate using qualitative analysis and expert judgement for evidence of community-wide recognition.
There were 59 researchers from the University of Oxford who were on the list, eight of which were from OxCIN. They are:
- Jesper Andersson, Associate Professor
- Paul Harrison, Professor of Psychiatry and Associate Head of the Department of Psychiatry for Research
- Masud Husain, Professor of Neurology & Cognitive Neuroscience
- Dr Daniel Margulies
- Philip McGuire, Professor of Psychiatry
- Karla Miller, Professor of Biomedical Engineering
- Thomas Nichols, Professor of Neuroimaging Statistics
- Stephen Smith, Professor of Biomedical Engineering
In the Department of Psychiatry, John Geddes and Willem Kuyken also made the list. The list included Patrick Waters and Jacqueline Palace from NDCN, and Daniel Freeman from Experimental Psychology was recognised.
