Abstract: 

Understanding the brain in both health and disease requires modelling across multiple scales. This talk will present research that integrates MRI, genomics, and histology using multimodal AI approaches to address key challenges in precision clinical neuroscience. It will introduce recent methodological developments and translational strategies aimed at building computational frameworks with real-world clinical impact.

Bio: 

Dr Chao Li is a Reader in the Schools of Medicine, Science & Engineering at the University of Dundee, and honorary research professor at the University of Cambridge. His interdisciplinary research combines neuroimaging, clinical neuroscience, and AI, with a focus on modelling brain structure, function, and diseases. He completed his doctoral and postdoctoral training in Clinical Neurosciences and Applied Mathematics at Cambridge, and held a clinical role as neurosurgeon. His work has contributed to AI-driven advances in both brain tumour characterisation and broader imaging neurosicence, published across clinical and technical venues.
