WIN Wednesday Methods SeriesFast whole-brain in vivo imaging of human meso-veins at 0.35 mm with 7 T MRI

Presented by Omer Faruk Gulban

Abstract: We present a fast, sub-7-minute whole-brain 7 T MRI protocol that captures the human brain’s venous architecture at 0.35 mm resolution, enabling in vivo imaging of mesoscopic veins (meso-veins) without contrast agents. We enable in vivo imaging of mesoscopic veins in humans, down to intracortical vessels across cortical layers, paving the way for a new type of brain map: intracortical meso-vein density, which has not been achieved by any other imaging method to date.
